Indonesia has entered different, but better, atmosphere when joining the G20 train. After long mutual relationship as a traditional bilateral aid from EU, Indonesia then entering new phase with EU. Eu no longer gives development assistance to Indonesia for the 2014-2019 programming, but still receive support under financial framework under the 2007 - 2013 until 2019, further thematic and regional funding also still possibly available.

Paris agreement also ties both parties to continue the cooperation, especially under Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Areas that is focused will cover Climate Change mitigation, Palm oil, forestry, and environment in general.

Water sector is also key priorities. Programs such as access to safe drinking water, waste water management, water pollution treatment, waterway management, and port operation training are several existing example.

EU-Indonesia Blue Book 2018 - European External Action Service

The EU-Indonesia Blue Book 2018, an annual report on EU-Indonesia development cooperation, was launched on Thursday (24/5). The report demonstrates the success stories of the substantial development aid that the EU and its Member States provide to Indonesia.
